DF you missed what AF was getting at. Njoy was praising Obama for representing the melting pot and on basis of his racial heritage. While it is great that we have shown race is not a barrier for Presidency (unlike many countries that criticize us), I think AF was getting at we should look at the person and not their race. The person and policies are what should make someone proud of a president.

I was addressing those who feel their native culture and language supersede our precious and unified national interests.

For all of you negative thinkers who presume I am proud to have Obama as the next President just because of his race are mistaken. I think he is good for the country for many reasons. The only reason I mention his race is because I feel as a country we have allowed the minorities to take a backseat politically speaking. I'm hoping that in the future we can get past the need for commenting on a persons race no matter what the circumstances. I would be a fool to think that day is in the near future; I'm sure it is not.

Some of the sentiments expressed on this forum are sickening. The Tiger Woods remark is ridiculous.

However, you will need to defend your comments here a whole lot better. You're making a case for a new American religion based on "Political Correctness", rather than on logic.

Were I to agree that Solomon Islanders have been kept to the "political back seat" as Melanesian-Americans, would you agree that one should be President based on their Melanesian race?

Why should we pay attention to what someone "feels"?

Do "feelings" make for good Presidents?

Or does the need for a country to have the best-possible executive as America's Chief Executive override "feelings"?
