1) Since this was posted, another three ships—including a Saudi oil tanker—have been hijacked for ransom. Around 2 million dollars (and increasing) are demanded for the safe return of those ships and crews.
Only India has stepped in to stop Somali pirates with military force!
Many states (most in the American South) have towns named for the U. S. Navy hero of America's first encounters with Islamic pirates.

2) Some "Legal-Immigrant" Somalians have disappeared from the US to resume lives in Somalia; perhaps it is to join in
jihad or piracy?

4) I don't know why our Navy ships in the area don't send up Predator UAVs and blast each pirate boat out of the water—starting with the pirates' "mother supply ships" hundreds of miles offshore of Somalia.
