The fish seem to enjoy the strong current coming out of Back Bay into Wolfeboro Bay due to the recent rains. Fishermen have reported catching many large salmon and bass off the Town docks.
This is good news for the Winni Fishing Derby this weekend. Prizes for the derby include a 2006 Lund 1775 Classic Sport boat for the Largest Lake Salmon.
The high waters may be good for fishing but is not so good for the Smith River Canoe Race scheduled for Saturday May 20th. This year the race will be restricted to Lake Wentworth. Read more about the race at The Lake Wentworth Association website.

My name is Paul Demers Jr. and I was a resident of Wolfeboro for eight years and
still have family in town. I am an alum of Kingswood High School and Middle
School. After graduating from Kingswood, I moved to Beverly to Endicott College
where I graduated Cum Laude from the communications program.
I am currently employed at New England Cable News and Dana-Farber Cancer
Institute as a graphic designer. This August I am riding in the Pan-Mass
Challenge, a bike ride that last year raised $23 million for the Jimmy Fund. I
am looking to raise much more than my $2300 dollar minimum as I ride 93 miles
from Sturbridge to Bourne, MA in the name of my grandfather who I lost to cancer
three years ago.
I would be extrememly grateful to anyone who wants to help my cause. Surely, we
all know someone who has been touched by cancer and the extreme burden that it
is on the patient and family. Any dollar amount will greatly help the cause.
You can make a tax-deductible donation by going to my page on the PMC website by going to http://www.pmc.org and clicking on the button in the upper left corner that says "egifts." Then all you need to do isclick "sponsor one rider" and select a rider either by typing in my name or myegift id which is "PD0091" Alternatively, you can send a check payable to" PMC/Jimmy Fund" to Paul Demers, 233 Kelton St. #5, Allston, MA 02134. Thanks so Much! Go Knights!Paul Demers Jr.
