A message from Cathy Sykes.

Upon further reflection it's interesting to note Paul Hatch won his seat on the Board of Selectman for many years with approx. 500 votes. Had he only been here to run against me I might have had a better chance of winning.

I'm proud if I inspired voters to come out in record numbers. I'm proud I taught my children valuable lessons in running a hard race and winning gracefully. I'm proud I taught my children the importance of the voting system and famililarity with the polls. I'm glad I raised awareness of the issues and opened up closed doors and discussions.

I'm still going to be around to ask the hard questions like how many lawsuits does the Town face? And why don't they buy the 212 acre sand pit property for sale on Beech Pond Road? The only difference is I won't have to sit through all those arduous meetings.

It is somehow a relief for me I didn't win. I was heart broken when I wasn't able to buy the Ossipee Court House but felt God delivered me the Yellow House on Main Street instead. Had I bought the Court House I never would have been able to buy this house I love. I can only wait in faith he has better things waiting for me in the future to lift my spirit. Our plans to go sailing in 2 years won't need to be interrupted.

It was one hell of an advertising campaign I created. For just the cost of the ad in the GSN I was on TV repeatedly, mailed fliers to hundreds, was featured in several newspapers, the talk of the forums and since the election have booked 3 Springtime Estate Sales from the increased awareness about who we are, what we do and where we live.

So all is not lost - it was a great experience - things will move forward now and I wish the new Board of Selectman many good wishes delivered on a wing and a prayer. They have a heavy workload and difficult tasks ahead of them.

Now if we could just get those 5 Selectman on line here to discuss some issues. They should - we have more people here then they do at the Wolfeboro Citizens and Taxpayers Association.

Thank you one and all who supported me with signs or votes. Your thought provoking conversations and friendship was not overlooked and is very cherished.

Warm regards,

Cathy Sykes, Dragonfly
